It’s with saddened heart that we announce Geraldine, the Rainey Street Guinea Fowl, has passed away. The sad news was learned yesterday that she was struck by a car. If you’ve ever been to Rainey on any given day especially during the early days of our district, you would see Geraldine walking around the street just like another bar patron. She was friendly and really was there before all of the bars. Unfortunately her home was taken from her recently but she never left. Even with all of the new developments Geraldine stuck around. She was our mascot. Craft Pride is planning a special event Saturday, August 16th in memory of Geraldine and also to benefit a local charity.

Not sure if anyone knows, but there's another Guinea Fowl that hangs out around 9th and San Marcos!
I know which Guinea Fowl you are talking about. Our friend known as Frank, Henry, Tipsy or Mr. Guinea. Myself and others were going to relocate him to a safe place this week but unfortunately he was killed on Friday by a car. š
